There hasn’t been much to cheer about as the IPL4 has progressed. But, slowly, four enthralling stories are emerging as inter-woven into the fabric of IPL 4. It’s as if four movies are running simultaneously at the same multiplex:
The Demon King has taken over the holy city of Kolkata and has ended the rule of the local deity (called “God of the Offside” by another pantheon member). After the devotees prayed and prayed, the god was reincarnated (by the sacrifice the bones of a team mate and the money of a Supporter). On the first sighting in his new avatar, devotees ran up onto the battleground and paid obeisance by touching his feet. All the devotes of Kolkata are now taking a pilgrimage to the new holy city of Pune to witness the resurrection and plead with the God to come to vanquish the Demon King and rescue & purify their city.<<<Giving darshan to his devotees
